Read More

  • Bowl of Saki for March 25 HE WHO IS FILLED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF NAMES AND FORMS HAS NO CAPACITY FOR THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD. --Hazrat Inayat Khan Commentary by Hazrat Samuel L. Lewis (Sufi Ahmed Murad Chisti): Yet he who has found capacity for the knowledge of God has all capacity for knowledge of names and forms. That is because the heart is so much greater than the mind and is the very essence of mind. Growth of heart, awakening of heart, purifying of true faith --these are the best means of increasing ... • By William Wordsworth IT is the first mild day of March: Each minute sweeter than before The redbreast sings from the tall larch That stands beside our door. There is a blessing in the air, Which seems a sense of joy to yield To the bare trees, and mountains bare, And grass in the green field. My sister! ('tis a wish of mine) Now that our morning meal is done, Make haste, your morning task resign; Come forth and feel the sun. Edward will come with you;--and, pray, Put on with s... Read More

  • by William Wordsworth CALM is all nature as a resting wheel. The kine are couched upon the dewy grass; The horse alone, seen dimly as I pass, Is cropping audibly his later meal: Dark is the ground; a slumber seems to steal O'er vale, and mountain, and the starless sky. Now, in this blank of things, a harmony, Home-felt, and home-created, comes to heal That grief for which the senses still supply Fresh food; for only then, when memory Is hushed, am I at rest. My Friends! restrain Th... Read More

  • Many American Scholars and those with other nationalities, who betray basic islamic knowledge should be charged with Scholarly Treason. This is obviously "a well calculated incapacity" of those American/and foreign Muslim Scholars. In addition, I am referring to these weak, islamically inaccurate, incorrect, uneducated and unknowledgeable self-made scholars who proliferate on the web like "wild mushrooms" on Youtube.com and other websites... They use readers/viewers/audiences' lack of basic knowledge, mi... Read More

  • Organizers of the Kirklees Primary Music Festival have changed the traditional story of the Three Little Pigs to Three Little Puppies to avoid offending Muslims. The move by a Church school to alter the popular characters and lyrics of a traditional children's story about pigs for fears of offending Muslims has drawn immediate rebukes from Muslim leaders and officials. The festival will feature hundreds of children from 63 schools in Kirklees singing the story in June. www.islamonline.net. Read More

  • Salaamz. As I'm graduating fellowship and looking for a job at this turning point, I've been thinking of moving to locations such as major cities nationwide and listening to people's comments about them. I think big cities are good for single professionals to meet others like themselves and keep busy and find a network of Muslims. I've done NYC and los angeles, and was considering staying vs. Chicago or Wash DC. Some pple tell me DC has the BEST community for single Muslims in the US. Whaddya all think? T... Read More
