Dear All: Salaamu alaykum. I just wanted to bring to your attention an online blog with the Washington Post and Newsweek called ON Faith. The blog includes about twenty participants from all religions, as well as non- and anti-religious respondents. Each week a question is posed, participants respond and then the public responds to them. I think it would be a useful data base for canvassing some of the ideas and attitudes about Islam and Muslims that are circulating out there. And I also think that it can... Read More

The UAE?s new phone company, Du, has rolled out its big budget branding campaign, which uses water to express its brand attributes. The thinking behind the multi-media campaign, devised by Leo Burnett, is that water is all around us in our daily lives, bringing people together ? as does communication. Tell us what you think of this campaign. Du you love it or hate it?

Heard this story through a friend, thought i should share. A girl is standing at a bus stop, waiting to catch a bus to go home and talking on her cellphone. There are quite many people around and its daytime. Two guys on a bike pull up in front of her, the guy on the back gets off the bike, comes in front of her, and without warning, plants a loud slap right on her face! The girl is stunned, cant even utter a word. He then shouts (for the benefit of whoever is listening) "kitney dafa bola hai! Abba ka ce... Read More

Hi. I have stubbornly straight, medium (not fine or coarse) hair and I want to be able to easily add some curls or waves sometimes. Does anyone have any recommendations for curling irons? Specifically: width, brand, type, etc Curlers? Which type do you recommend? Which products? I lack all hair styling skills and have very little patience with my hair. So, I need "hair appliances/tools for dummies".
