So new to CA. Other then enjoy the FABULOUS weather, what are some things to do around the Bay Area?

My hubby and I have checked out Pier 39 which was pretty tight.

Any other suggestions? Also where are the best mosques in the Stockton / Modesto area?

Thanks y'all!!

If ya'll aren't too busy stop by and say hey!

salamu alaikum,

That's easy. I visit the bay area often and every time I like to stop by at the Zaytuna institute which has Hamza Yusuf as it's director. Many times they've got something really nice going on mashallah and I often meet very nice people. Don't forget to pop over around to the nonprofit bookstore they have on the premesis. It's full of great treasures. The address is 631 jackson street in hayward. Of course you could visit their web site too zaytuna.org for their schedule of official events.

may allah bless your move.

wassalamu alaikum,
-anwar

Welcome to Cali Farnaz and hubby. You may want to check out GaskellBall.com . It is an amazing Victorian Ball in the best tradition of ballroom dance events. Truly worth attending. The next one is this Friday, and then Feb the 24th, next year..

Or stop by the MedicineBuddha.us tea house and healing center. On Friday evenings we have a stellar restaurant, which is KindleCafe.com doing their thing here.. And the First Sunday of EVERY Month is the open mike.. too much going on here. Just plug in.. and feel welcome. Was Salaam.

I just moved out here a few months ago too. There are tons of stuff to do here. Check out the pink section in the sunday paper for just some events.

Keep an eye on this board there are some good listings of things to do.

Good luck!
