  • The Redskins were the ultimate Cinderella team with everything that they they experienced in the regular season. The regular season finale against Dallas was a classic. And Collins rocked - with just his 2nd start in 10 years. Of course, I am a little biased - I support all Michigan quarterbacks, for obvious reasons.     Another thing, with a new coach comes a grace period to rebuild. He has ZERO pressure on him to produce a big time winner years 1 and 2.
 

  • I currently own a 2007 BMW 650 - a most fun and impractical car. Now I'm thinking of getting something more practical for the Chicago snows. It'll either be SAV, or a SUV from som other brands. Anyone with great SAV experiences (X5 or X3) who would advocate either relative to a Acura MDX?

    I just got an X5. Much more solid ride, greater road grip than the MDX. I looked long and hard at both.
 

  • I have a disciplined methodology for investing in stocks ("going long") that has statistically proven to out perform the market over3-5 year periods. This also includes the targeted use of call options. What I lack is systematic methodology for shorting stocks. I would love to hear from people who have a systematic way of doing this. I will, of course, share my "long" methodology if anyone is interested.

    Shorting is essentially haram because you cannot sell something you do not own, only to buy it back later as a cover. But a far more serious breach of Islam is in the next issue...

  • The sun shines brightly on the iced pond surface outside my window and the geese crackle. I had a good sleep last night, and will turn in again for a few hours now. I sleep well all days and wake up before the alarm, am blessed. The apartment is warm while it is bitter cold outside. And, I had a good breakfast. When I wake up will have some tea. How can one be more content or happy? Alhamdulillah.
