  • Lyrics, Cat Stevens Album: Tea for the Tillerman Title: Father and Son Year: 1970 Father: It?s not time to make a change, Just relax, take it easy. We cannot ignore, however, that Allah is Al-Wadud, the Ever-Affectionate, the One Who loves those who do good and bestows on them His compassion. Nor can we ignore the fact that He is Al-Rahman, the Beneficent, the One Who gives blessings and prosperity to all ... Read More

  • Allah's Messenger (may Allah's peace & blessings be upon him, his family & companions) once kissed his grandson Hasan while a man named al-Aqra ibn Habis al Tamimi was sitting beside him. The man said, 'I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them.' The Prophet (pbuh) looked at him (sadly) and said, 'Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy'. (Bukhari)

  • Reflections on the Subjects of Philosophy, Psychology and Mysticism in the Teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan by Hidayat Inayat-Khan ----------------------- The one who only finds faults in others is often the one who has the most faults, whereas the one whose own faults are taken into consideration with the object of improving them is the one who appreciates most the right doings of others.

Dans un autre sens, le cheval repr?sente le mental et le cavalier la volont?; soit le mental domine la volont? ou la volont? dirige et contr?le le mental. Il n'y a pas d'alternatives. • Bowl of Saki for March 8 YOU CANNOT BE BOTH HORSE AND RIDER AT THE SAME TIME. Hazrat Inayat Khan Commentary by Hazrat Samuel L. Lewis (Sufi Ahmed Murad Chisti): You are either the positive or the negative, the teacher or the pupil, jelal or jemal, leader or follower. In another aspect, horse represents mind and rider will; either the mind overshadows will or will directs and controls mind. There are no alternatives. But when one keeps in Darood and in unity with God, the part that they may play in the ... Read More

  • Hey Salaamz. I'm not a native Californian, but I came to LA from NY two years ago for my fellowship. As I 'm finishing up , I have two job opportunities right now, one is in Riverside (inland from OC) and the other is in Walnut creek (45 mins from San Fran). Neither one seems to be IN a great community, but rather the best thing you can say about them is that they are both 45 mins away from someplace nice, ie one is 45 mins from OC the other 45 mins from San Fran. Can anyone familiar with both areas some... Read More
