As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu
Narrated by Abdullah ibn 'Amr (Radhiallaho anho):
Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said "The fast and the Qur'an
are two intercessors for the servant of Allah on the Day of Resurrection. The
fast will say: 'O Lord, I prevented him from his food and desires during the
day. Let me intercede for him.' The Qur'an will say: 'I prevented him from
sleeping at night. Let me intercede for him.' And their intercession will be
accepted."
Ahmad related this hadith with a sahih chain.

Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam)said, "Whoever establishes prayers during the nights of Ramadan faithfully out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards (not for showing off), all his past sins will be forgiven."

As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu
Narrated by Ibn Umar (Radhiallaho anhuma):
I heard Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) saying, "When you see the crescent (of the month of Ramadan), start fasting, and when you see the crescent (of the month of Shawwal), stop fasting; and if the sky is overcast (and you can't see it) then regard the month of Ramadan as of 30 days."
