Hey Salaamz.

I'm not a native Californian, but I came to LA from NY two years ago for my fellowship. As I 'm finishing up , I have two job opportunities right now, one is in Riverside (inland from OC) and the other is in Walnut creek (45 mins from San Fran).

Can anyone familiar with both areas somewhat tell me which is a better place to live/work in terms of socially as a single person (don't party but I'm into most active stuff/outdoors /plays etc) , and in terms of the Muslim community?

As promised, I am organizing a hike this weekend with a few friends and am opening the event up to anyone who is interested.

I have chosen Will Rogers State park since the trails there are suitable for all levels including beginners. For RSVP or questions, please email me directly at [email protected], call me (310) 720-6336 or confirm on this site. Please do RSVP if you are coming so I know whether to expect you and not leave you behind on the morning of our hike! ; ) The park is located off Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades at 1501 Will Rogers State Park Road, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272. Please refer to website below for directions/map: www.mapquest.com

Look forward to a good time and seeing a few of you out there!

Later,
Rob

We probably have enough interest at this point to get a decent group together for a hike through other villages. I am running a marathon this Sunday Inshallah but afterwards hope to spend my weekends on hiking trails as opposed to beating endless miles on the pavement! Will keep you posted but am thinking first event might be on weekend of 2/12 Inshallah.
