Source: www.iht.com Science unravels why we see faces everywhere By Elizabeth Svoboda Tuesday, February 13, 2007 Click here to find out more! More than a decade ago, Diana Duyser of Hollywood, Florida, received a religious message through an unlikely medium ? a grilled cheese sandwich she had made herself. As she gazed at the brown skillet marks on the surface of the bread, a familiar visage snapped into focus. "I saw a face looking up at me; it was the Vir... Read More

Reflections on the Subjects of Philosophy, Psychology and Mysticism in the Teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan by Hidayat Inayat-Khan Happiness is the criterion for virtue, whereas unhappiness is the criterion for wrong-doing. What is good is good because it gives happiness; otherwise it cannot be virtue, it cannot be right. If one presumes to be virtuous in connection with the unhappiness of another, that cannot bring one happiness, because in wrong-doing one can only be unhappy ===

Hi, I'm looking to volunteer abroad and have run into some serious roadblocks. Namely, none of these so-called "humanitarian organisations" seems interested in helping people. I've scrolled through slightly more than half of the imva.org list of int'l relief agencies, applying to all of them that don't require that I be a fundamentalist Christian (check out the list and you'll see what I mean) and have exactly zero replies so far. Zero. A week has passed and no one wants to save lives. Or do they? Only... Read More

Listen, dear one, My voice is within you. I've called you so often but you have not heard me. I am the will between the seen and the Unseen. Through Me you find yourself, why do you flee Me? Others love you for themselves, not who you really are. Love Me, love Me alone, love yourself in Me. I am the fragrance within every fragrance. I am the savor within every savor. You have not smelled Me and you have not tasted. Let nothing possess you, nothing in any world. Be Mine, be for Me, as you are in... Read More

How many of you have read her books & what did you think of them? (Kartography, Broken Verses, Salt & Saffron, In the City by the Sea) I think she's an exceptional author. She has a way of making words jump off the page and evoke such emotion. I haven't been able to find In the City by the Sea, but I've read the other three novels. I have to say that Broken Verses was my favorite, closely followed by Kartography. I'm still on the lookout for In the City By the Sea. I'm hoping it's as wonderful as ... Read More

What is bounty without a beggar? Generosity without a guest? Be beggar and guest; for beauty is seeking a mirror, water is crying for a thirsty man. Hopelessness and need are tasteful bezel for that ruby. Your poverty is a Burak;* don't be a coffin riding on other men's shoulders. Thank God you hadn't the means or you may have been a Pharaoh. The prayer of Moses was, "Lord, I am in need of Thee!" The Way of Moses is all hopelessness and need and it is the only way to God. From when you were an infant,... Read More
