12 Killed in Two Explosions North of Beirut
The state news agency said Tuesday that twelve people were killed and ten others were injured when two public buses exploded in a Lebanese village.
The blasts ripped through the buses in the village of Ain Alak in the Metn region in the foothills north of Beirut but the cause remained unclear. One explosion took place at 9.30 am (07.30 GMT) in a minibus full of passengers and seven minutes later another explosion ripped through a second nearby minibus.
Member of the Reform and Change bloc, MP Ibrahim Kanaan said to reporters at the scene, "All of Lebanon is a target, and we can only confront it with unity. We call on the authorities to adopt measures which prevent such breaches of security in Lebanon."

"Every time the possibility of practical solutions looms on the horizon between the Lebanese factions to strengthen their unity, the enemies of Lebanon rush to commit a new crime against innocents," Emile Lahoud, the Lebanese president, said.
Amin Gemayel, Lebanon's former president and a prominent Christian leader, told the the Voice of Lebanon radio station that "alien hands" were behind the explosions.
"Lebanese do not kill Lebanese," he said.
