  • i began scrolling through village journals in hopes to find this topic already but alas i got tired so i'm posting this question hereto...sorry if it's been asked and answered. does anyone know of good books that explain the shariah's treatment of inheritance rights, and i'm not talking books written by patriarchal or chauvanistic-inspired male scholars only.

  • The Prophet (may Allah's peace & blessings be upon him, his family and companions) said: 'O Allah, I ask You to make it easy for me to do what is good, to leave what is bad, and to love the needy. And I ask You to forgive me and have mercy on me. If it is Your will that some people be put to severe trials, take my soul without letting me fall into temptation. And I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds that draw me near to Your love'. (Ahmed)

Read More

  • Bowl of Saki for January 30 THE HEART IS NOT LIVING UNTIL IT HAS EXPERIENCED PAIN.--Hazrat Inayat Khan Commentary by Hazrat Samuel L. Lewis (Sufi Ahmed Murad Chisti): The angel lives in the heart-sphere but does not know pain. There is not strength in the love, it is something like the natural love of the infant. It is only when love is tested that love can show its strength. If it turns to hate or any emotion, that shows there was no life there. Sufis are able to experience pain in the heart witho... • As I have stressed numerous times, ID, as strictly a scientific theory, does not claim that God created the universe and living things since ID has not garnered scientific evidence to rule out the possibility, no matter how speculative, that an advanced alien life from outer space or another quantum, parallel universe was the designer. Indeed, the precise identity of the designer varies as a function of one?s religious, personal, or speculative belief. However, since I consider myself a Muslim who subscribes... Read More

  • Reflections on the Subjects of Philosophy, Psychology and Mysticism in the Teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan by Hidayat Inayat-Khan On this path, balance in all things, material activities as well as spiritual ones, is required, because where there is not a harmonious rhythm there can be no constructive accomplishment.

Lewis (Sufi Ahmed Murad Chisti): This is a concentration upon nufs, the cause of all disharmony. When one concentrates upon God, nothing but love will be found, but when the attention is centered around the thought of self, all ugliness, pain and illness will rise. Of course in a certain sense they were always there, but thi... Read More

  • There is a simple saying/proverb in West Africa: "When two Brothers fight, Strangers always reap the harvest" Why are there conflicts all over the world, particularly amongst people of the same origin or background or from the same country? - Hamas & Fattah in Palestine. - Lebanese in-fighting - Sunni & Shia in Iraq Now the most terrifying are the in-fightings in Serria Leone, Ivory Coast, Somalia etc. Most of these over political control.
