  • So I almost got a tattoo (just a small little thing on the underside of my wrist), but the rational side of me asked around before getting one (plus I hadn't decided what exactly I wanted). So I talked with my family, our family imam, and Google...apparently if I get a tattoo I go to hell. Bummer. So is it ever legal to get a tattoo and be a Muslim? Like maybe in a life or death situation (is that even possible?). Oh yeah, getting a crescent moon or something Islam-y for a tattoo isn't allowed either. ... Read More

Yeah, that's pretty much what the people in my journal entry preached...negatory on the tattoos. Oh well, I'll stick with the temp ones for now or I could either convert to ano...

  • Started a new job-job a couple weeks ago...waking up early in the morning is still horrible. Does it get better? So anyway, a week after I started I get a phone call from my mother, no biggie, she calls ALL time, but this time it went something like this..."you're finally out of school now and have a steady job, it's time you found a larki". All this before my first paycheck, seriously, haven't even gotten over my new-job-jet-lag yet. Well I just vented, later.

  • I saw them at the Middle East last Thursday, holy cr*p they were AMAZING live. Was anybody else from here there? This was honestly one of the liveliest performances on stage I've seen in a long time. They weren't faking, they were really having a good time performing for all of us. Apparently saying cr*p isn't allowed in postings, wth?

  • Looking for the Perfect Woman ? a Mulla Nasruddin Tale One afternoon, Nasruddin and his friend were sitting in a cafe, drinking tea and talking about life and love. His friend asked: ?How come you never married?? ?Well,? said Nasruddin, ?to tell you the truth, I spent my youth looking for the perfect woman. In Cairo I met a beautiful and intelligent woman, but she was unkind. Then in Baghdad, I met a woman who was a wonderful and generous soul, but we had no common interests. One woman after another wou... Read More

  • I caught the finals of the French Open for both the men and woman. Henin hands down was going to destroy whoever she was playing b/c Serena was out. As for the mens final, which I was looking forward to a lot, wasn't as exciting as last years. Great shots here and there. Just seemed to me both of them were playing a little more cautiously than usual. Totally understandable. And like another naseeber said...Federer has the rest of the tournaments to dominate. But then again I'm a Nadal fan so I'm glad he ... Read More

  • Conn Hallinan Prelude to a Conflagration According to the U.S. mainstream media and the Bush Administration, the fighting in Lebanon between Fatah al Islam and the Lebanese Army is really a proxy battle between the Lebanese government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora over efforts by Syria to destabilize Lebanon and snuff a UN investigation into the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in 2005. "Fatah Al-Islam is a terrorist organization that has been imported into Lebanon," said Saad al-Ha... Read More
