So I almost got a tattoo (just a small little thing on the underside of my wrist), but the rational side of me asked around before getting one (plus I hadn't decided what exactly I wanted). So I talked with my family, our family imam, and Google...apparently if I get a tattoo I go to hell. Bummer.

So is it ever legal to get a tattoo and be a Muslim? Like maybe in a life or death situation (is that even possible?). Oh yeah, getting a crescent moon or something Islam-y for a tattoo isn't allowed either.

Any loopholes? That would be awesome. But then again, there are never any loop holes in Islam...it's rough.
