has added a new journalSo I almost got a tattoo (just a small little thing on the underside of my wrist), but the rational side of me asked around before getting one (plus I hadn't decided what exactly I wanted). So I talked with my family, our family imam, and Google...apparently if I get a tattoo I go to hell. Bummer.
So is it ever legal to get a tattoo and be a Muslim? Like maybe in a life or death situation (is that even possible?). Oh yeah, getting a crescent moon or something Islam-y for a tattoo isn't allowed either.
Any loopholes? That would be awesome. But then again, there are never any loop holes in Islam...it's rough.

Yeah, that's pretty much what the people in my journal entry preached...negatory on the tattoos. Oh well, I'll stick with the temp ones for now or I could either convert to another religion, get a tattoo, and then convert back to Islam. Nice loop hole huh?

It is not "my" translation, but that of many scholars and various authors. The words used are "... istimta'tum bihii minhunna..." Istimta'tum is the verb form of the word Mut'ah. The verse refers to not just "marriage" as many mistranslate it to be, but to any lawful form of marriage, muta'a included. As for English translations, try Message of the Qur'an by Muhammad Asad or The Majestic Qur'an by the Arabic Translation Committee.

Why?
Because no one can prove how much money was raised and where the money went !
The "Organisers" have disappeared and dont have the "Balls" to answer any of my Q's.
Well .... the Earthquake victims are still dying... and I dont think they will recieve any of the funds the event raised.

has added a new journalEver come across someone who acts like master of something but in real life, that person knows nothing about it.
For example, I know couple of people, who are horrible people, not only horrible but had many unsuccessful relationships and none of them last more then couple of months. YET, you always see them out there giving advices on relationships and how to be successful. Similarly, one of my acquaintance lost great deal of money in network marketing and other get rich quick scams. But that doesn't stop them acting like the business guru.
