The elegance, grace and exquisite creativity of the Mughal culture permeated every facet of society and brought new perspective to existing culture of the time. Influences from that era persist even today.
With the Mughal theme in mind, Dasht Professional Events has organized a Single Muslim Professionals Matrimonial Event to take place in Central New Jersey on Friday, April 18, 2008. All Muslim professionals (single or divorced) who are looking for that "special someone" for matrimonial purposes are encouraged to attend.

There will be a thorough screening process of candidates prior to the event and unique ideas will be utilized at the event to ensure maximum communication between the sexes. All effort will be made to ensure that you get your money?s worth.
The event will include light ambience music, halal appetizers, instrumental performance, dance performance, Urdu/Farsi poetry reading, live raffle, prizes and more.
You will be required to bring your photo ID to the event. The Organizing Team reserves the right to determine candidate eligibility for this event. The Organizing Team is only responsible for the event cost; you must make your own arrangements if you plan to stay overnight at this or another location. Registration fee strictly covers cost of the event itself and excludes transportation/overnight stay, outfit, etc. All payments (including special discounts and rates) are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled for any reason.

has added a new journalI was planning to go to Europe in Summer '08, however with the dollar sinking so low against the Euro should I postpone until it is stronger?

There are some countries where the Euro isn't used. I recommend Turkey, Croatia. I recently visited Turkey and had a uber-fantastic time.. $2000 spending money for two weeks was more than enough.Croatia.. i am going there in the summer. i had the dollar is pretty strong there as well.

has added a new journalI'm planning the trip and want to combine Cairo/Luxor/Aswan with Petra in Jordan. Anyone been to a similar trip? Any suggestions? I can't talk my sister into going with me so I'll be doing it solo - any problems that I should anticipate? Would really appreciate some planning help / tips.

Been to egypt and i second Soul-searcher's comments.Solo female in egypt ? Not recommended. Yes most places you'll go to will be tourist spots - but still its not Sharm-al-sheikh.
Cairo and the Pyramids at Giza - You can spend about a days here at best and the Cairo museum is no picnic without a guide (just to get you in the door). Its a zoo.
Luxor is a bit more tame.
Start at Karnak - you can do this yourself - no guide needed. Do the night tour.
I rather recommend this.
Valley of Kings and Valley of Queens - you need a driver and a guide.
Additionally - any guides you get - get them from your hotel. Don't do the local taxi and hit the desert.
Your enjoyment mileage will vary depending on your love for history. If you aren't much of a history buff, you've seen one mummy, you've seen them all. You've seen one tomb, you've seen them all. History tickles your fancy and you know who's who - you're in heaven.
You're afflicted with indiana jones syndrome, pack a bottle of water and drop into a remote Pyramid.
I went into Tut's tomb with a camera at midnight after bribing local guards (highly not recommended).
Remember to keep lots and lots of small bills with you for baksheesh. Starting in morocco, the tip and almost begging for it culture doesn't end until you hit the gulf. Sad but a hundred years of servitude seems to have transformed the culture. The Bedu are the only ones i developed real respect for. If you can get a couple of male friends to go, hit the Sinai desert in a jeep with a local bedu guide. Dont go without a guide. Same things towards Alexandria and Qatara. Thats where Monty stood up to the Desert Fox - el Alamein. Lots of land mines litter the desert. I did this by horseback from cairo (not recommended if you arent a hard core rider and can endure 8 hours in a saddle).
Petra - haven't been but will give you a debrief in Feb.
