Despite a reputation for rain, Seattle is a hotbed of activity in the Pacific Northwest. Located just two hours south of Vancouver, Canada, the city of Seattle is an international port that boasts three professional sports teams, hundreds of restaurants, a myriad of cultural venues and a lifestyle that is unique to the Pacific Northwest. Recreation abounds here, with golf, skiing, hiking, camping and more all within close proximity to the city center. The Pike Place Market is one of the more well known attractions within the city, and boasts a variety of shops, fresh food and other services. The arts are well represented in Seattle as well, with galleries, cultural venues and concert halls all enjoying respected positions in the city. Another integral part of Seattle is the dedication to coffee, an obsession among many Seattelites that is evidenced by the inordinate number of cafes and coffee houses in the city.

Hi everyone, I am potentially moving to Seattle early next year to be closer to my family in Vancouver, Canada. After living in NYC for 12 years, I am a little aprehensive about moving to the other coast and all the strange life style changes that I will have to adapt to, like owning and driving a car for example.

Anyway, would like to connect with folks in Seattle to meet meet up with and potentially ask for advice on things like: where to stay, where the best thai restuarents are, where the 24hr hot spots are, etc.

if you havent already moved you dont have to own a car or drive here. it is similar lifestyle to nyc.... just less stress... we ahve public transit and more..

Salams and greetings! So its been a mission for me to visit Seattle and God willing it will happen one day. I know a few folks out there so really should arrange a trip out there but u know I got relatives out in the US and I get the guilt trip visiting other folks and not them. Anyway so tell me what exciting places to check out in Seattle. Hope alls well with all :)
