This village seems to hibernating...but i have a special request. I will be coming to pittsburgh from oct 27 to november 25th to do some rotations for 4 weeks. I am looking for housing for that time near oakland area. If anyone knows of someone willing to sublet for a month, please let me know. All I require is a place to sleep at night. I would appreciate any help.

has added a new journalHi all, well im moving to Pittsburgh inshallah in August from my abode in Chicago to begin school at Chatham College.
I've never lived outside of Chicago so this is an exciting and nervewrecking time for both me and my husband.
So whats the best thing about Pittsburgh? Do you all like it here?

just came back from pittsburgh and boy has it changed since i was there in the winter. the city was absolutely delightful and ITM you were right the squirrel hill and shadyside areas were sooooo beautiful. Loved every moment of my time spent there!kohinoor77

there is Salem's... they have groceries and food... it's mainly a grocercy store and then a small restaurant... i haven't eaten there since, i think last Ramadan, that was the last time i was in the Burgh... there used to be a halal pizza place but i think they either moved or closed down... some of the cool things you might want to check out are Schenely park and the Phipps Conservatory and the Carnegie Muesuem... they are all close to each and close to CMU and Pitt campuses... if you need more info, there are plenty of people i know in Pgh that would be of help to you and your family insha'Allah.. just let me know... i don't check what's posted on here too much, but you can either send me an email or post on here and insha'Allah, i'll get to it....

has added a new journalOk, so it's fast approaching MarchMadness time of the year. What can we make out of our own Panthers? They seem to be a Dr. Jekyl & Mr. Hyde type of team... world beaters one day, and a mediocre assortment of amateurs the next.
I do feel this is the team that will go the furthest amongst the past three sweet sixteen teams come tournament time for the reason that there is a showtime player and goto guy; both of which were absent in the past. Individual efforts advance teams in the tourney, so Krauser & Troutman have the ability to crack the elite eight or dare I say, fabled final four!!!
