Hafr Al-Batin Community College (HBCC) is a young and dynamic institution in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. It?s strategic plan is an ambitious one, reflecting its aspiration to become one of the leading community colleges in the Middle East for achieving excellence in teaching, training, and development programs. The college has a multi-national staff being made up of wide variety of nationalities; Arab, Dutch, Americans, British, Swedish, Irish, Scotish, Canadians & Asians. The medium of instruction is English. Academic programs offered by the college are:
A. English Language Unit
Applications are invited for English Language Instructor positions at Hafr Al-Batin Community College starting in September 2004 or February 2005. Applicants should be well qualified, committed and adaptable. Successful applicants will be offered positions at Lecturer level in the Preparatory Year English Language Programme. Lecturers teach a structural intensive programme to which they are encouraged to contribute ideas and materials. Applicants must be a native speakers of English with a first degree from an Anglophonic university. As well as the Degree as stated qualification requirements are minimum, one year overseas ESL/EFL teaching experience, plus one of the following: RSA Certificate / Diploma in TEFL; BA in TEFL/TSL or closely allied field (e.g. Applied Linguistics), two or more years additional EFL/ESL experience.

Applicant should have earned a Ph. D. Degree in engineering field or MSc. with rich experience. Candidates must provide evidence of outstanding achievements in academic programs coordination with minimum requirements of:
Good level teaching experience ? Program coordination ? Familiar with the point system ? Familiar with engineering and technical programs ? Can work in multinational community ? Worked or has good experience about community college programs and philosophy mission ? Has a good potential in program assessment / development ? Familiar with the ABET rules and regulations ? Excellent knowledge of the English language.
I. Registrar
Applicants are invited for Registrar starting September 2004 or January 2005. The candidate?s main duties are to direct, organize, and oversee all registration and academic records, including transcripts. Prepare, in collaboration with the concerned departments, the master schedules for all the offered courses and assigned exams. Work closely with the Admission office to maintain and update students? academic records.
Candidate should posses a minimum of M.A. in Office Administration (or a related field) and three years of experience in procedures and operations on admission and registration in academic institutions.
Contracts: Two-year renewable contract; competitive salaries depending on qualifications and experience; monthly local transportation allowance and end-of-service gratuity. Single status is preferred.
Benefits: Married and single status appointments (please note: there are no International School facilities in Hafr Al-Batin for school age children); rent free, air conditioned, furnished accommodation including basic utilities; two months paid summer leave each year and annual flights.
