zabiha or non zabiha.. wat say u ?


i hate the word zabiha.. cause its supposed to be thabiha, but for familiarity purposes and non arabs.. ill use zabiha.

so do u guys eat zabiha or non zabiha meat?? is it a concern to u at all? or do u do what i do and eat anything except things labeled pork and alcohol ??

I also never use "zabiha" -- all non-Muslims, and many Muslims, have no clue what that means. "Halal" works well.

I avoid anything labeled with "pork" or "pork products". The standard religious teaching in Islam is that, if you're living in a land where Halal food isn't easy to come by, just follow the general teachings about WHY something is Halal and God will forgive you. To me, that means no pork products.

As to the level of pork products, it's just not practical to track down the source of every enzyme, etc... When I heard that Oreo cookies used lard I stopped eating them, until they dropped the lard for the sake of Muslims. Other than that, I don't go out of my way to track down the source of every ingredient.

I believe Islam is a practical religion, not one that's about hardship for the sake of hardship (compare with Catholicism).

are meat bi-products, such as enzymes, considered pork? Or is pork just meat?

I dont use the term zabiha...but more Hallal or non hallal stuff...
