i live in toronto ... and life is pretty smooth alhamdulillah ...generally or moajority of the people are very polite....specially if you go to small cities...

Hasmu: In the UK, I have better prospects. I have many opportunities that I would have never been given in France...Here, in London I have never experienced the aforementioned probls of finding accommodation. I like my life here. ...career wise, time frame, personal development, plans for the future... Im still striving.

I only go to France for short stay to visit family, friends and holiday...as I was raised and fed there, I still like the quality of life in the French countryside, the food, farmer produce...

i always like to hear from someone who really experinced it rather then someone who had not....ne ways so how r things are in uk now ? i think there wont be anything like white is prime. i live in canada and over here its almost unthinkable to be ever subject to this attitude. its just not possible here (exception would be very rare remote cases)

On a letter Nazia outlines the problms that French Muslims face as Residents. This is very true. for ie too often Immigrants are segregated and pushed in specific areas situated in Paris & its suburb. Looking for a new property that you either intend to rent or purchase is a real struggle...Situations of this kind are tough and needless. The inexpected can easily strike.

I recall the moment when I was Student and was looking for a new flat. I struggled for months to do so. I could hardly understand the reasons cse I was working part time. My parents and I had the financial resources to afford the rent. Anyway one day I spotted an advert in a local newspaper and called the Landlady to make an appointment. The Landlady and I agreed to meet up on a day. When I got to the property addres, 12 people where waiting for the white French Landlady.

As soon as she arrived, she addressed us: Good morning, first of all, my property will be only rented to descent of French Gaullois (meaning first descents of white French pple). wow! most of us were arabs, black & asians. 3 white pple were standing amongst us. within mins everyone left except myself, the 3 whites and another arab. Then the Landlady reiterated. I meant it. She openly questionned the whites...what are your origins???...one of them said: Belgian...she reckoned: you are not from Gaullois descents!! after Listening to her Q & A session the Arab and I decided to leave the venue.

Surely, she rented the flat to one of the 2 remaining white French (Gaullois descents) hehehe. I really found her actions racially oriented. 10 years on these types of events are frequently heard in France. Estate Agents, often do it.

Years ago, in France high profile case made headlines. The owner of the property: a white French. The purchaser: a Professional from Algerian descents. Through Estate Agents, they proceeded with the purchase of the property. However, when it came to the attention of the white French that the purchaser had Algerian origins he deliberatedly withdrew his agreement and halted the sale. Then the purchaser and owner had to resolve the matters before a judge. The French Algerian won the case. The white French was ordered to complete the procedures to sale his property to the French Algerian.

Nazia, the author of this letter made a good initiative. This is a step further. I hope the President and his Interior Minister will take into account the number of points Nazia put across.
