Women only gyms in Saudi Arabia
Women only gyms have become popular inthe conservatist kingdom in cities like Jeddah and Dammam in recent years after circumventing licensing rules by calling themselves beauty salons.
The goverment decided that women need NOT work out outside their homes citing technical reasons after one Saudi scholar recently desbribed women who participate in sports as 'shameless'.
These gyms are being shut down in Saudi Arabia as a result of the government only licensing gyms for men.

In protest, Saudi women recently launched an online campaign called "LET Her GET FAT" which protested the decision to close down all-female fitness clubs that are not under the supervision of a government hospital or clinic.
