Depends what you mean by retinal mottling. This is a non-specific term used by non-retina specialists to define retinal changes such as hypo and hyper-pigmentation of RPE.
Also depends on the location of the the lesion and age of the patient. Any visual symptoms?
He had classic congenital glaucoma with buphthalmos, DM breaks and high IOP. He had an enucleation done eventually. He is only three! It was quite upsetting.
Anyone seen anything like this in the UK/US?
