This photograph is of a 4 year old boy taken during my trip to an eye hospital in the north of Pakistan. I shall write about this experience later. Meanwhile, anyone care to hazard a guess?

Hi,

Depends what you mean by retinal mottling. This is a non-specific term used by non-retina specialists to define retinal changes such as hypo and hyper-pigmentation of RPE.

Also depends on the location of the the lesion and age of the patient. Any visual symptoms?

I came across this village and was glad to note that I can ask queries here but to my surprise we need to join the village to ask a question.Well since there are so many ophths n this site in this village Can anyone tell me what is retinal mottling ?What is the significance,cause, signs, symptoms and treatment for this diagnosis?I would also like to know where and to whom should I proceed to in UK to get this diagnosis treated.Please help me.Thanks.

i've seen buphthalmos but not nearly this advanced...

This 3 year old child had an enlarging right eye for the last 2 years (at least). Parents did not bother till he started complaining of pain!

He had classic congenital glaucoma with buphthalmos, DM breaks and high IOP. He had an enucleation done eventually. He is only three! It was quite upsetting.

Anyone seen anything like this in the UK/US?
