US veto on any solution in Lebanon still standing
Al-Manar special report ? Manar Sabbagh ? Translated/
While the head of the Future Movement MP Saad Hariri left in a hurry for Saudi Arabia, Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri continued to discuss proposed ideas to solve the internal political crisis. Berri's sources said that all channels are open between the Speaker and the ruling bloc, on top of which is the Future Movement. However these sources denied an appointment has been set between Berri and Hariri, which in all cases won't take place before next week, since Hariri will head to Paris after Riyadh to mark the annual commemoration of his father's martyrdom at the Arab Institute in Paris, with the participation of President Jacques Chirac. Anyway, it goes without saying that ongoing contacts come in the framework of finding a solution based on balance and correlation between the national unity government and the tribunal of international character to try those involved in the murder of former PM Rafik Hariri.

US trying to stop Lebanon reconstruction.
Hezbollah accused on Wednesday the United States of trying to stop the reconstruction of Lebanese regions damaged in last summer's war during the Israeli aggression.
On Tuesday, the US Treasury Department accused Jihad al-Bina of bolstering the public standing by rebuilding war-torn areas. "I consider that this American decision condemns America and not Jihad al-Bina because it is targeting an institution that is concerned with civic development and construction," said Hussein Rahhal, head of Hezbollah's media unit. "Therefore America is obviously targeting the prohibition of construction in south Beirut and Lebanon."
Rahhal said Jihad al-Bina was an independent body and it receives funding from donors in Lebanon and outside of Lebanon. Large districts of the southern suburbs in Beirut and several towns and villages in south Lebanon were destroyed in the July-August war. Jihad al-Bina has been involved in debris clearance and reconstruction efforts in those areas.
