Film Night in the Park is San Francisco's premiere outdoor film series. Eight film night screenings in 2007 were attended by over 15,000 film-goers with over 7,000 attending the July screening of 16 CANDLES in Dolores Park. Over 50,000 people have attended Film Night in San Francisco since 2003. Films are presented free of charge on a giant outdoor screen in beautiful park settings. Attendees are encouraged to picnic before screenings and are discouraged from bringing chairs. Bring Jackets/Blankets too!

Born to Afghan parents, she used her language skills as a translator, and from her time with these detainees she has written a diary that provides insights into the lives and families of those held at Guantanamo. ISLAM, MARRIAGE AND THE FAMILY - This weekend course will deal with aspects of Islamic family law as they relate to the domestic affairs, relevant aspects of the Prophetic biography, and practical advice for newlyweds that are based on a ?family-oriented? reading of The Aphorisms (Hikam) of Ibn ?Ata-Allah as-Sakandari. At 6 PM, participants are invited to buy food and drink. The cafe offers crepes, sandwiches, salads, and an array of drinks. From 7-9 PM, we'll discuss whatever people want to discuss. If more than eight or so people participate, we'll use a "rotating chair," with each speaker recognizing the next speaker by passing a "talking object." Each speaker will be limited to two minutes, will be asked to respond to the previous speaker (while being free to bring up a related point), and will be asked to bear in mind who hasn't spoken when recognizing the next speaker (so the conversation is not monopolized by a few). We'll begin the discussion promptly at 7 PM and adjourn at 9 PM. Participants will be free to distribute literature and talk informally afterwards. Zain Bhikha - Zain Bhikha was born on August 9, 1974, in Pretoria, South Africa. He is a world-renowned nasheed artist, famous for writing many Islamic albums. Zain Bhikha's songs served to be very popular throughout South Africa, especially for young children who found the songs educational and inspiring. Bhikha was a pioneer in the Nasheed genre. When Bhikha started singing, Islamic songs were not sung in English. As one of the first English Islamic singers, he opened the door for many other artists. His albums have been launched in many countries and he has performed live in many cities across the world.
seven8six - The name SEVEN8SIX (or 786) is a popular numeric shorthand for the Islamic saying of bismillah, or "In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful." The talented singing group consists of Shahaab Quraishi, Omar Razzacki, Zafar Razzacki, Muhammad Saadullah (Saad), and Muhammad Saeedullah (Saeed). The group performed as SEVEN8SIX for the first time at the 2002 ISNA convention in Washington, DC. Most of the group's subsequent public appearances have been at large concert events organized by Muslim groups. SEVEN8SIX has grown tremendously since their first performance. They are very thankful for everyone's support and dua's. "Insha'Allah, we look forward to a lot more together as a group and hope that everyone, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, can share in all that we put out. Ameen.?

His routine has been featured on CNN, CBS, PBS, and NPR; as well as being highlighted in Time Magazine, Newsweek, The New York Times, The LA Times and The Wall Street Journal. His sketch comedy performances at the ACME Theater in Los Angeles were hailed as "devilishly funny" and "extraordinary" by LA Weekly. Jobrani was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he caught the acting bug after portraying the lead in his eighth grade production of "Li'l Abner." He studied theater throughout high school, then went on to earn a BA in Political Science and Italian at UC Berkeley. In the fall of 1994, while beginning a Ph.D. program in Political Science at UCLA, he visited the university's prestigious theater program and was immediately hooked back on acting.

At 6 PM, participants are invited to buy food and drink. The cafe offers crepes, sandwiches, salads, and an array of drinks. From 7-9 PM, we'll discuss whatever people want to discuss. If more than eight or so people participate, we'll use a "rotating chair," with each speaker recognizing the next speaker by passing a "talking object." Each speaker will be limited to two minutes, will be asked to respond to the previous speaker (while being free to bring up a related point), and will be asked to bear in mind who hasn't spoken when recognizing the next speaker (so the conversation is not monopolized by a few). We'll begin the discussion promptly at 7 PM and adjourn at 9 PM. Participants will be free to distribute literature and talk informally afterwards. Zain Bhikha - Zain Bhikha was born on August 9, 1974, in Pretoria, South Africa. He is a world-renowned nasheed artist, famous for writing many Islamic albums. Zain Bhikha's songs served to be very popular throughout South Africa, especially for young children who found the songs educational and inspiring. Bhikha was a pioneer in the Nasheed genre. When Bhikha started singing, Islamic songs were not sung in English. As one of the first English Islamic singers, he opened the door for many other artists. His albums have been launched in many countries and he has performed live in many cities across the world.
seven8six - The name SEVEN8SIX (or 786) is a popular numeric shorthand for the Islamic saying of bismillah, or "In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful." The talented singing group consists of Shahaab Quraishi, Omar Razzacki, Zafar Razzacki, Muhammad Saadullah (Saad), and Muhammad Saeedullah (Saeed). The group performed as SEVEN8SIX for the first time at the 2002 ISNA convention in Washington, DC. Most of the group's subsequent public appearances have been at large concert events organized by Muslim groups. SEVEN8SIX has grown tremendously since their first performance. They are very thankful for everyone's support and dua's. His routine has been featured on CNN, CBS, PBS, and NPR; as well as being highlighted in Time Magazine, Newsweek, The New York Times, The LA Times and The Wall Street Journal. His sketch comedy performances at the ACME Theater in Los Angeles were hailed as "devilishly funny" and "extraordinary" by LA Weekly. Jobrani was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he caught the acting bug after portraying the lead in his eighth grade production of "Li'l Abner." He studied theater throughout high school, then went on to earn a BA in Political Science and Italian at UC Berkeley. In the fall of 1994, while beginning a Ph.D. program in Political Science at UCLA, he visited the university's prestigious theater program and was immediately hooked back on acting.
