Anyway, the album was quite unlike anything I'd ever heard before and I must admit, I'd have given it 10 out of 10 for sheer creativity if nothing else, but like I said there were a few gems on the album, suprisingly!

I started to accept everyone as a friend to build a network. On occasion you may find some really interesting people. Most of the people I usually already know or we are connected through other friends. But I have to admit I have found some great stuff which is not often..

Thats the problem with digital technology. Everybody think they are a musician and band.. So you have to dig through tons of trash to find quality.

I get all kinds of bands wanting to be my 'friend' on Myspace lol I listen to snippets of their music and for the most part they are really not my cup of tea lol I think it's mean to decline their invite so a lot of them I dont action at all... all those friend's requests sitting in limbo lol

She sent me an event invite and I went to her page. I clicked a song and it started off simple. Then she started playing some melodies and harmonies that put me in a trance. I was in a zone until her song went off...lol Scary but great stuff.

A friend of mine made me a french hip hop CD, it's got some great music on but I dont know who any of the the guys are so can't look up their music!

i used to buy random CDs without listening to them... I 'discovered' Tom McRae, Mercury Rev, BT and a number of other artists (all signed though) that way... I once bought a CD of a guy in the street too. It's a conceptual album with some good tunes on. He was performing some of his stuff which I quite liked the sound of though I had to run for my train and only got to hear about a minute of it! He calls himself 'The Adventures of Mulletboy' that was a great find... Very interesting...

Hey Jamal, i was just about to mention Myspace! There are so many bands and artistes there, I've heard some interesting stuff there... Haven't signed in for a while though... I'll look that particular artist up when I do though :) Thanks

Thanks for responding. I find most of my music from digging in record stores (vinyl) or surfing on websites that have music samples of artist. I don't really purchase pop music. I've learned as an collector and DJ a long time ago 20 years + that most of the great works are undiscovered or barely played. Radio music is programmed and agenda oriented.. I like the freedom of controlling my musical diet and taste.

I can play music to anyone for long periods of time and they wont know one song..hahaha They will hear quality though..

So post some B-side artist that are genius. I want to learn.

On some lazy sunday mornings I go through the A-Z listings of artists on itunes and just click on every artist and listen to 30 secs to see if I like or not! I can usually tell within that time too and swiftly move on or listen to a few more tracks by that artiste to see if there's anything worth downloading! I havent really listened to any music through or since Ramzaan...

i love listening to dif versions of roots tracks, i make no secret of them being my all time fav artists. i mean when i go on their site and take a listen to ..... i'm in another world
