Fatah warns of uprising of Palestinian refugees across Lebanon.
Al-Manar correspondent in north Lebanon said that fighting is still raging since the early hours of Tuesday between the Lebanese army and the Fatah al-Islam militant group around the Nahr al-Bared Palestinian refugee camp.
The group said it would stop fighting from 2.30 p.m. (1130 GMT) as long as the army did the same. "We are giving a chance for calm and a ceasefire," Fatah al-Islam spokesman Abu Salim told Reuters. A security source said the army would not fire unless fired upon. There was heavy exchange of fire on the (Tallat al-Mihmarra) front and the eastern entrance of the camp. According to Al-Manar's correspondent, the Lebanese army is undertaking a purging campaign in the (Mihmarra) neighborhood, on the northern entrance of the camp. The army stormed in the (Abdo) building and other buildings in the 200 street and they turned out to be militants free.

Fatah warns of uprising
The mainstream Fatah faction warned on Tuesday of an uprising by Palestinian refugees across Lebanon if the army continues to shell the northern Nahr al-Bared camp where Fatah al-Islam fighters are holed up. "No Palestinian or Palestinian faction in Lebanon will accept seeing the Palestinian people slaughtered in a collective punishment as is happening in Nahr al-Bared," he said. He called for an immediate ceasefire to help resolve the "problem" of Fatah al-Islam. Abul Ainain said 17 Palestinian civilians have been killed and dozens of others wounded since the fighting erupted at dawn Sunday.
Lebanese army soldiers repelled an attack by Fatah al-Islam militants in the (Khan al-Abdeh) region and had fired artillery shells on the railroad region. Calls from inside the camp urged concerned authorities to evacuate the casualties. The Lebanese army expressed readiness to cease fire for that purpose, however gunfire from inside the camp have prevented ambulances as well as aid convoys from entering. Sources from the camp said that at least 18 Fatah al-Islam militants have been killed in the Lebanese army bombing. Al-Manar has received several phone calls from the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp complaining of being shot at by Fatah al-Islam militants whenever they approach militants positions. Fatah al-Islam is a militant group which is accused of links to the Al-Qaeda network.
