This Weekend in San Diego

i'm coming to your turf today through next week for a conference at the convention center in downtown. my schedule there is mostly lectures during the day. since this is my first time to the area, i'd like to take advantage of what it has to offer. anything nearby that you'd recommend in the evening and afternoon i have available? i hear the gas lamp quarters is nice and closeby. i only will have a couple hours to spare on different days so i'd like to do something in that time. i'd rather not just eat out. but may be something on the water (although i know it's too cold right now on the water?) or anything else unique?
Also , any Muslim related events in the area? at the masjids or anything? THANKS!

I am glad I was able to create a "push" to this JE.
I heard the plan is to meet tomorrow at 5:00 in La Jolla. the only problem is I live/work almost an hour away and during traffic it will be hard to make it with you all.
My apologies I was hoping to meet during the weekend. Have fun all.
I think the Carlsbad Outlet is nice - it is close to me :)- and Old Town is nice for some Mexican food and the overall experience.
Humanitarian I second Faten's question, how long are you staying here for?
