Alex, thank you for your sincere and warm comments. Your knowledge is impressive. We have to recognise that people make different choice. On one hand, there're people who are interested in worldly pleasures, trivial pursuits or simply kill the time. On the other hand, there are people who choose not to do so. We all have a life span but noone knows when his/her life will end except Allah (swt).

Prophet Muhammed (saw) appealed, prayed and teached others the tenets of Islam. In Islam every human is recommended to perform good deeds and avoid sins. Every human is compelled to prove in practice the sincere faith and do good deeds to be blessed and highly rewarded. There is a purpose in life and one of the purpose of life is to find peace.

About people being interested in musicas and movies. do you refer to my JE? If you check it out carefully you'll find variety and some interesting links of Arab music including Omar KHAYRAT and 2 Egyptian movies :). Later i'll add some good nasheeds to that JE. Everyone finds something they like cse this JE doesn't only include Arab but also South Asian music.

Sister Lynfasi, I say sister from my deep heart;
I think there are two groups of people on earth, the bad and the good. There are people who changed the world with their misconceptions and disbelief like:
John Stuart Mill with the theory of utilitarianism, Karl Marx with the theory of communism, Charles Darwin with the theory of natural selection, Sigmund Freud with the theory of psycho analysis based on a sex complex.
On the other hand, there are people who enlightened the world with their ideas like:
Prophets with their holy books, Aristotle's poetics, Jean Jacques Rousseau's social contract which i regard as the Bible of the french revolution, John Locke's letters concerning toleration which paved the way for anti-racist world, John Dryden's poems defending God and finally Lynfasi's posts on naseeb.
Unfortunately, people are attracted more and more to non important posts such like the one of musicas and movies, while nobody or you rarely find someone attracted to your jewels and gems you add here and there.
As a believer of the concept of God in general, i think you will be rewarded for your contributions to humanity such as pious people.
Finally, I don't know anything about your age, colour, occupation or family but i hope the best for you this year. Don't forget to invite me to your 67th birthday this year, hehehe.
