The Eyes Wide Open exhibit -

When: Saturday, May 3rd, 10:00am to Sunday, May 4th, 6:00 pm around the clock

Where: Kings Plaza, corner of Hamilton & Ramona, Palo Alto

The Eyes Wide Open exhibit helps give the public a more concrete understanding of the human costs of war by featuring pair of boots honoring each U.S. military casualty from California (about 450), a labyrinth of civilian shoes to memorialize the Iraqis killed in the conflict, and a display exploring the history, cost and consequences of the war. Individuals, families and friends are invited to honor and grieve for lost loved ones and strangers, near and far. The exhibit creates a sacred place for prayer, meditation, reflection, sorrow and commitment to build a world of peace. Most of the time the vigil area is silent, with occasional quiet prayers, music, and conversation.
