Syeda marrying a non-syed
Dear village members,
I read the article submitted earlier by saranakli. While I don't agree with many of the viewpoints in the article, they all sound familiar to me. I come from a syed family and grew up hearing that I could only marry a syed ( marryng a non-syed was haraam).
As I grew older, I began to doubt and question many of these beliefs and have worked through many of them by learning more about them.
I think this is an issue that has been hard for syed women to deal with and is not addressed enough.
I was wondering how the other syedas felt about this and whether they have come to any understanding or belief about marrying a non-syed.
Thank you
Sabahat Shah

I think Seyyid woman need to go back to there heritage and know whom the decent from; Fatima Zarah, Seyyidina Seceena, Zainaib, who would even cover there footprints when walking so no non Mahram would even see there the shape of there foot, and they woud say in reply that we Ah lul Sadaat. Sisters should really undertand what it means to be Sadaat.
Of course there may be bad seyyids as well, but if you were to put out a fire even with dirty water as appose to clean water it would still do the job. If only Seyyids would go back to there dean, and be true teachers of Islamic history to the world, we wouldnt have such a misinterpreted way of Islam as it is today. I make dua that all Seyyids become true Seyyids and show the world what true Islam is. we may have not been there in the time of the prophets, but our blood certianly was.
When there will come a time when all hypocrites will be defeated, all muslims will have lost there faith, but it is then the family of Rasouallah will bring the Muslims back to its faith and defend the Religion of ISLAM.
