Plato, and to all others...you guys have to know something that has become unfortunately a pattern in thiose countries. Sometimes it isnt the smartest people that end up being sheikhs...in fact, it seems like a last resort, for people who couldnt make it into law school, or medicine, or engineering...therefore, people who may not be the sharpest...they fall back on religion school since they cant make it anywhere else.

The result of this?>...many of them arent as smart about issues or use proper logic to make their decisions...this definitely does hurt our religion..it would be nice if some smart people use their smarts for religion instead...

it's not any better in Jordan, I remember when we used to travel by car,at the border,this one guy at the customs was pointing at a woman screaming " meen sa7ebhaa haai" like she's a hen or something. yet the literacy rate there is 99.9%.

religion should be focused on social welfare issues, he could have spent that time berating the oil rich states for letting the rest of the muslim world wallow in poverty, or reprimanding the use and abuse of immigrant labor and the entire female gender in his homecountry, instead of frying neurons in people hwo don't know enough to realize he's talking bullsht, and given a podium only because he has a title of religious authority.

I did not imply that I have personally conducted the statistical study, which may exist somewhere nonetheless. My aim was to use a concrete example to illustrate that pinning down gender differences is not meant to irrationally pigeonhole the population into a prejudiced conception regarding gender differences. A few may intend to do so, but I do not. And I concede that it is inappropriate for others to imply so. If that is what the Sheik intended to imply by pointing out the gender differences in communication and thinking styles, then he was wrong.

I don't think that he meant to categorically apply the understanding to "all" men or ?all? women. The translation on the bottom of the screen read "in general." Of course, this is only meant to be a coarse generalization.
