Saad Hariri in a Double Mission
Details of Hariri?s visit to Russia.
Political and diplomatic sources followed up the visit of MP Saad Hariri to Russia. The sources said that Hariri requested Moscow?s support to pass the draft of the court in the UN Security Council without the approval of the Lebanese constitutional institutes. However, the Russian side stressed that the adoption of this draft has to be done according to the Lebanese constitutional frameworks. Head of Russian National Security Council, Igor Ivanov, told Hariri that Moscow could not agree on this issue because it will lead to the destruction of Lebanon and the region, and it will set a precedent that could be replicated in any region of the world.
The same sources added that Hariri, after the rejection of the Russian side for his request, suggested to issue a statement at least to assert the Russian support for the government of PM Fouad Siniora, the answer on the request was that Moscow does not support but a government of national unity that represents all the Lebanese political forces.

Sources revealed that Hariri transferred a Saudi desire that the Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to the region to be for Saudi Arabia only and not to include Qatar, which Moscow apologized on. Moscow is studying the response to a similar request carried out this time by the head of the National Security Council, Prince Bandar Bin Sultan.
