Rumi is one of the great spiritual masters and poetical geniuses of mankind.

If there is any general idea underlying Rumi's poetry, it is the absolute love of God. His influence on thought, literature and all forms of aesthetic expression in the world of Islam cannot be overrated.

I thought I share few of my favorite works of Rumi:

Never be without rememberance of Him,
for His rememberance
gives strength and wings
to the bird of the Spirit.
If that objective of yours
is fully realized, that is
"Light upon Light"...

practicing God's rememberance
your inner being
will be illuminated
little by little and

some measure of detachment
from the world.

Hush - Don't Say Anything To God
