Response to poem: Risk
To be a fool is to risk knowing all
To be Sentimental is to *mentalize the senses
To risk involvement is to be vulnerable
To show your true self is to chance being known
To be naive is to be the child that you truly are inside, which you shall always be, and which is nothing but love for those who can see
To care for return is to be attached to an outcome
To risk dying is to know no fear, where all possibilities ARE
To risk despair is to allow a mistake to continue
To risk failure is to know the toil, the fruit, the joy of success
But when fear and attachment is let go, then nothing is a risk, because everything is mere possibility
The people who risk nothing need to learn better, and receive inspiration from those who risk without concern for consequences, people like Gandhi, MLK Jr. and Imam Hussain (AS) **
Suffering and sorrow are lack of abundance and joy, but once attachment to all things is let go - all things become a study that one can progress and find Allah in. As we do, we learn and realize that everyone can feel, and change and grow and love and live...
No one is slave of any one or thing, everything is free and on its way to ultimate release from the bondage of material existence. Entropy (degradation and change) is truth that nothing can deny, so we do not concern ourselves with changes that we cannot affect. We merely work on the things we can change, and excel at those to the best of our delightful abilities.

** Although technically Imam Hussain did not risk anything. He knew what he was going to, and he knew why he had to pay the most incredibly ultimate sacrifice anyone can ever imagine, or not even imagine, because the true story of what happened to the beloved self-proclaimed son of our dearly Beloved Rasool (S) is beyond imagining.
But please do not let these two thoughts, however _separate_ they may be from the original intention of the response, deter you from the intention of the response, which is to improve on something already beautiful. Barak Allah and thank you for sharing this haseen thought S4Eva, and even more so for being alive. Was Salaam.
