reducing body fat

I've been working out very consistently for the past 2 years (avg 3 times a week), varying my workout from running outside, weigh training, cardio machines and various classes. I still can't seem to get rid of some of my body fat especially in the abdomen region. Any thoughts? I think East Indian women are just meant to have a cushiony stomach. Maybe Lypo is the way to go (lol)

its your diet...no ands ifs or butts.your doing something wrong..and its not genes!! ive been there done that. i changed my diet around..i take in good fats( from nuts, fish) i eat lots of wheat, i eat lots of protein...I DRINK LOTS OF WATER..one gal a day...you dont have to do tons of cardio to get great abs either..dont believe that..to reduce body fat you should do lifting(lite weights.)you will get tone and lose the body fat....and give your body time to rest. you want to raise your metabolic rate naturally..dont take those magic pills either. good luck.

just to give you an idea ..you have hope.if i did it you can too! 2 years ago when i moved to cali..i was 160lbs and 25% body fat..now im 155lbs but 10-11% body fat...and by the time i go to my 10year HS reunion in MI ill be 160 and 7-8%. you have to set real goals..thats another thing.

I was in the same situation, but have started losing fat since I've started eating fewer carbs (no sugar, no refined carbs, no sugary drinks) and more protein and making sure that I have a healthy snack in my gym bag to eat after workouts (otherwise I'm tempted to go on a carb-fest). I am also drinking LOTS of water (8 glasses a day, more on workout days). I have a number of friends who say that wheat really bloats them, specially around the stomach area!

I find that focussing on the areas where the fat are, helps a lot. For fat around the abdomen, I would suggest (if you have not already) focussing on sit-ups and crunches, preferrably on an exercise machine where you can increase the resistance steadily.

Our abs, are definitely under there somewhere :)

No whites... bread, sugar, rice, flour, only 2% percent milk helps. No diet cokes which bloats your stomach. Watch out for your 'regular' fruit juices (i.e. Dole) that has refined sugar in it, your best bet is to check out juices that you can get your local organic shop.

Also, stress can be a factor. Eat lots of fiber through vegetables. Green tea helps twice to four times a day.

Make sure when you are working out that you breathing through your stomach and tightening it.

definitely eat much more healthier than i use to .. I've cut down on the sugars . I know diet is a big part of it, but I now make healthy choices (even in terms of my snacks)
