Question for any legal eagle

** got this in the mail**

(1) Is it possible to sue a profile on Naseeb....someone who may have said something thats negative to another member

(2)"i had an arranged marriage earlier this year and the girl is a cousin of mine. after marriage we came back to UK from India. the orignal plan was for me to contiue college and complete my education. but now my uncle (her father) is refusing to let me do that and is making me work in his store - also he is NOT paying me. i am extremely unhappy and dont know what to do"

definitely see if u can warn others so the 2nd daughter doesnt have to go through this too.. even if youre hindu the local temples/ priests should be able to tell these people what they're doing is wrong.. i know theres a large temple in neasden, london and others.. again look them up in yellow pages or ask your community where your nearest one is

You have the upper hand, convince your relatives not to marry....

You may have to do some of your own sleuthing.... Have your wife run the errands and have her responsible for filling out the immigration papers - as he probably has you at the store.... have a trusted friend (who won't leak a word of this to anyone) carry the papers back and forth....

You may also want to consider night school....

2nd email from the Enslaved-GHUR-Jamai

my wife is a UK born and bred girl, we were married off as part of a double marriage - my sister is married to her brother. we come from a simple background in Bangalore and are off Hindu religion. so we cant consult the local mosque.

i am now living here as an illegal immigrant since i had travelled on a visit visa, which has now expired. the understanding was that my uncle - would enroll me into college (for which i had prepared and sent in all the applications) he had to send his bank statement and i was waiting for their reply but when i called to check with the college i was told that they had not accepted my application since the papers were incomplete.

i cant leave since they have my passport and even if i leave - my sister who is happy in her married life will suffer. my wife is a good girl and a decent wife. i dont want to leave her. but my uncle is refusing to let me study or get my immigration papers done. he has me working in his store for free and now is planning on marrying his second daughter to another relative with the same intention"

posssibly not.. the legal guidelines on internet stuff are hazy -

i would think the easiest solution would be to sue naseeb if this stuff is online, and if they're allowing this stuff to remain online.. but they're in a different country to most of us which again complicates the situation.. a solicitor / lawyer in your country would best be able to advise

if someone posts internet stuff you object to you can try and sue the hosting isp (naseeb in this case) but i reckon there have been very few successful lawsuits of this type - doesn't mean you shouldn't try though.. uk law for one works on precedent so you could be making legal history

2nd best is to get your lawyer to write them a letter, they will most likely be scared enough to get their technical support team to work hard to prevent whoever it is from reposting/ maybe even try to trace them to tell them off

i'm not sure what the law says regarding defamation/ libel which is not online - again consult a lawyer where you live
