Poll: 70% of Lebanese against Siniora

Seventy percent of Lebanese people are against Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's continued premiership, according to a recent opinion poll.
The survey conducted by Beirut's Information and Research Center shows that 70 percent of the 800 people polled oppose Siniora's continued premiership.
According to the poll, 61 percent of the Lebanese believe that there is a chance of an agreement between government supporters and opponents in the next presidential election.
Some 64 percent of the voters said they agree with the formation of a transitional government, if no new president is elected by November when President Emile Lahoud's term in office runs out.
The survey also indicates that 69 percent of Lebanese want to choose their president through direct voting.
Currently, the president is elected by a two-thirds majority in the parliament.
President Lahoud was elected on the 24th of November 1998 for six consecutive years. The parliament re-elected him in 2004 for another three years.
