Politics - About Sarkozy
Positive discrimination, funds for mosques and a key support for immigrants threatened with deportation are the trump cards of French Interior Minister and centre-right presidential candidate Nicolas Sarkozy to win back the confidence of suburbanites and citizens of immigrant background, once lost in the 2005 suburb riots.

"Still, Sarkozy enjoys the sympathy of many suburbanites, who want to end their marginalization and discrimination," he said.
"Sarkozy himself hails from (Hungarian) immigrant parents and is self-made, which could be a trump card."
France was hit by a deadly wave of riots in 2005 following the death of two youths of immigrant background while fleeing police.
The deaths ignited pent up frustration among young men, many of North African origin, at racism, unemployment, marginalization and mistreatment by police.

Opinion polls showed that Sarkozy pulled ahead of Socialist candidate Segolene Royal for the Elysee seat.
According to the IFOP poll for Paris-Match magazine, in the event of a second round decider between the two candidates, Sarkozy would get 52 percent of the vote compared to 48 percent for his rival.
The last equivalent poll in November put Royal ahead by 51 to 49 percent.

C'est vrai il a raison sur certaines choses mais pas sur tout. Il est comme Le Pen( extreme droite) , ? la difference pr?s que Le Pen dit tout ce qu'il pense des ?trangers.
