Phsycological Problems
I wonder if other people have experienced the same thing. I have been going to the gym now constantly since October 2004. At first i completely changed my diet, and made gym the centre of my life, but as time went on, i pushed it to the side, but still made it part of my lifestyle.
At the time i started, i was about 160lbs (11.5 stones), when i look back at my naked photos, i am shocked. Anyway, i made it part of my lifestyle, i would go gym 3-5 times a week. I would eat like a dog and so forth.
I had a goal, to look bulky and stocky, to become broader and look "Built". My goal was 182lbs lean, but i continued. Whenever i would look at myself in the mirror, i would think, damn, im skinny, i need more muscle, and i would continue my never-ending bulking cycle.
The results were there, but gradual. I hadnt become hulk hogan overnight, but because the results werent so rapid, i never really saw the "growth", i got used to it.
recently i hit 200lbs; looking in the mirror, my physique has improved a lot, but i still feel skinny. I work out hard every week and leave my body aching for days.
If i miss the gym for 2 days i feel wasted and useless. It has phsycologically become a part of me. I have to go to the gym. When i wake up, and my muscles are not pumped, i feel the need to hit the gym asap.
Ive seen people grow and shrink in a matter of months, i see seasonal gym enthusiasts, but i have been gradually growing.
When i eat something fattening, i force myself to run on the treadmill until i am a ball of sweat.
Admittidly it has brought some good things to my life. Gradually my confidence has gone up, both in male and female crowds, my posture has improved and I give more attention to what i eat, but when do you stop?!
Has anyone else had the same problem? When is it right to say youre big enough. i dont want to be labelled a "body builder".

I decided to hire a personal trainer last week. He has recommended that i go for 200lb lean.
I have been absolutely dying after the training sessions, which have been packed with supersets and cardio. The way of training has been completely different to mine and the focus is shaping excercises rather than bulking.
I have also been given a strict diet plan to follow, which eliminates all the bad foods (300g PROTEIN, 400-500g CARBS
100 FATS). In the space of just 3 sessions, i have noticed and felt the improvements. At the time of writing this i am unable to lift my arms directly above and have loads of DOMS pain on the lats. The intensity has been almost unbearable, but the results have been greatly impressive.
Although its expensive, I never thought a good personal trainer could be so helpful.
Naturally, When i worked out, i was focusing on my strongest body parts. If i could lift the whole rack, i would do it more. if i found an excercise hard, i would try to do it less. A personal trainer will help you develop lagging muscles, and generally improve your overall physique, by focusing on your weakest excercises. Worth their money in gold.
The reason i have always gone for bulky over a toned look (-20lbs) is because you dont walk around with your top off, but ive realised that both can be achieved with extra hard work!
In the end, you gotta do with what youre happy with. It seems Wasimm has a form of exercise bulemia. Instead of throwing up, he works out to burn the calories. I think youre better off cutting the calories, and gettin cut. Youll probably have to drop down to about 175-180 from 200, but youll look much bigger in your naked pictures. I went from 194 to 171 or so, kept my strength, and look much bigger (naked, of course!) then I did before, when I just looked fat. Of course my friends ask me what happened to my muscles, but thats ok. :P
Wasim: most people have the opposite problem, so to start, you're very fortunate.
Secondly, you can train a lot less if you train with intensity. This is covered quite a bit in the "Body-for-LIFE" program, which I found helped me lose weight, though folks use it to gain weight too.
I enjoy healthy foods now as part of my lifestyle. I allow myself to indulge one day a week, which keeps me not feeling like I'm missing out on junk food or a big cheesy burger once in a while.
There's nothing wrong with working out intensely for a short few months to achieve a goal, but be careful you don't make it a lifestyle.
Make healthy eating and regular, but not imposing workouts, part of healthy living.
For bodybuilding or a very fit toned look, you need to achieve to a percentage close to 7%. That's extremely difficult to do.
In terms of your question, I think you have a normal complex which alot of ppl have. Want a better looking, more muscular body and you think you haven't achieved it yet you look pretty good. The download to this mentality is stress, over-working out which is will ultimately do u more harm than good.
Unless you are a professional athlete trying to achieve a certain look, then, consult a professional trainer, and for got it. From what you have described, i think you have achieved your goal of getting more strengh and muscle.
