Agreed with Fugitive577 - Saban destroyed the team but Cameron has not done much to help his case. Drafting Ted Ginn and Beck in Rounds 1 and 2 respectively have made NFL analysts scratching their heads.

Petrino - came into a disastrous situation and left the team the same way. Period.

Nevertheless, both coaches are not made for the NFL and they did what was in their best interest. I believe NFL owners will finally begin to shy away from College coaches and not look for the next Jimmy Johnson.

Arthur Blank should throw $10M/year at Bill Cowher to bring him back out of retirement.

and I think Saban is worse.. not in sense of leaving team.. but how he left the Dolphins. Petrino didnt alter the team a bit, he pretty much left what he had.
Saban just made horrible calls and Miami is 0-13 enroute to 0-16.

When all is said and done its personal thing and the coaches have right to do what is best for them... NFL shouldnt go after college coaches from now on or this will happen again and again

NFL just doesnt have any thing comparable to what SEC / Major Conference Coaches get.. Respect, $$$, power and total control of their teams.

Saban hands down. He dealt for Culpepper and had a chance to work with a roster. Didn't he also say I am not leaving the Dolphins and then bolts within a couple weeks. Just because he finished ONE season we should hail him the Cal Ripken Iron Man award of coaching.

Petrino - hmmm lets see - I come to coach Vick, we traded Schaub to get value for him and then Vick is suspended indefinitely. Dealt a terrible hand....and then at odds with his players constantly. The players lost respect for him prior to his departure from the Falcons. So if he stayed another 3 weeks and rumors would have surfaced about him going to Arkansas, then what?

You know Petrino has given a million speeches to his college players about never giving up and being persistent no matter what. First sign of tough days and negro is gone.

I am very tired of the this most sports are losing respect. In the NBA some of the Refs gamble, make horrible calls or no calls. In NFL there are bad calls also and coaches leaving teams just like that. The athletes just making way too much money and doing and making stupid mistakes VICK, Travis Henry and others these are the Roll Models we have these days its just sad. Baseball is still a lot better I think the players are more family types of guys the gentlemen types but yes not all are like that but most ;)
