Once a year drug to reduce fracture risk!!!

Hey guys
Here is some amazing news about a new drug called Reclast (aka zoledronic acid). In a recent study in the New England Journal of Medicine, women taking Reclast had a 70 percent reduction in the risk of spinal fractures and a 41 percent reduction in the risk of hip fractures. The risk of other types of fractures were also reduced by about 25 percent. In addition, bone mineral density increased in the spine by 6.7 percent and in the hip by about 6 percent. Although this drug is not yet approved by the FDA, I am pretty confident that it will come on the market shortly.
For those of you who are older or have older loved ones with risks of having osteoporosis, this may be a drug worth talking about with your doctor.
