NYC DEC 8 WKND - NEW YORKERS - FUN PLACES TO GO???

Hi everyone,

Salam! I hope all of New York Naseebers are doing well!

My sis Sophia (heavenly_faith) and I will be in NYC the wknd of Dec 8 - Dec 10 for our friend's wedding. We love New York and we've been there a million times however we hardly get a chance to really enjoy the city b/c of visiting relatives!

We're wondering if there is anything fun going on that wknd?

So where's the NYC social scene at i.e. the the trendy places that all of you go to on the wknd???

We're really looking forward to our trip and perhaps we'll even get a chance to meet some New York Naseebers that we aren't friends with already!

Thanks a lot!

Farah

I just tried this place for Brunch with a few friends from DC. If you love French Toast...you have to try this place. It's on 53rd street and 9th and is called Eatery. it was absolutely YUMMY. :P

Amel can't come with a guest!!!! NOOOOO...I am brining my guest especially for her! ;) (it's a super super secret plan so don't tell her. I mean she can come with a gues, but it's gotta be girl! :)).

now if you're refering to the original guest, I could care less how religious he is at this point, because I think the individual have finally realized that Darya23 is always right and went back to "submissive hijabi wife" search. Alhamdullah! God hears my prayers.

Yep she'll be there with her guest...
Darya, is he really that religious? doesnt dance or listen to music?
At least the food is halal... hmm

*sigh* a month to go....

:) Saira: I'll know you'll be busy since it's YOUR wedding that we're coming for, congrats again!

Darya - thanks that's actually a great idea! Let's see if I can get a group of interesting New Yorkers to come along!

and Farah, if you're into futuristic paintings containing many colors and meaning wayyyy too deep for an average jogi, then I'd recommend visiting MoMA. (free on Fri nights, from 6pm).

Nakli, I may be eliminating "the guest" all together, or coming with less "islamified" one...

Hey, is your husband's yemeni friend coming?

Farah, I realised we didn't really really answer your question. Ok cool spot during the day...west and east village both have hot spots depending on what vibe you fancy. East village, Ave A, Ist, Second, St Marks place all good places to wander and find something you like. West Village is trendy (East more bohemian). There are so many trendy cafes that its hard to choose just one.

For night time dinning meat packing district is hot.

Hope this helps.
