NYC Clubs/Lounges

I am going to be in NYC from Thu Jan 4 to Mon Jan 8 and wanted to find out what are the best clubs or lounges to hangout and partayyyy like its 1999 on week days and weekends.

I'll probably be staying in mid-town around Times Square or Madison Square Garden.

Would appreciate all suggestions.

Happy Holidays to All!

Very cool! I prefer the non-pretentious crowd any way as I see too many of 'em here in Orange County. Hate it when people cant pack the image they are carrying.

For quality of music and without the pretentious crap, I'd have to agree with Samira about Sullivan Room, APT, Cielo, but I'd throw Love into the mix as well.

Hudson Hotel, Chelsea Hotel, The Soho Grand, Maritime Hotel..the Mandarin Oriental in the AOL building has a superb Bar/ Lounge with a wonderful view, 230 Fifth Ave (that the name and address), top floor has a gorgeous lounge...and lastly the Hotel Gansevoort which is in the meatpacking district and pretty hot now.

W is also fine in Union Square-

Darya: Thanks!

Lala: Hotel lounges are all good in my book. In LA, The W Hotel has a pretty decent lounge. Dont know how it is in NYC.

Taj is a hit or miss...some nights if you are there with friends its good otherwise not so good...

Guesthouse has kicking music but the crowd is ok. We went with a bunch of people which made it loads of fun.

Pink Elephant is the in spot now as well but you most likely need to get a table to get in.

hmmm let me see...lounges with eye candy...

What about hotel bars/lounges?

Omar, man, you beat me to Bungalow 8! :)

Anyway, Tonic is good to, in my opinion. Heard good things about Taj as well, never went to myself though...

Darya: I prefer lounges with good music, good drinks, hip atmosphere, and lots of eye candy.

Yaar: Thanks, will check those out.

Do you want clubs or restaurants, or clubs where you can eat? Do you want places with desi/middle eastern music or not?
