Did u guys see this promo? with Amitabh and that chic! Common I think this man is loosing his class!
You are welcome, just could not relate to the character.
It did not make sense that a man of that age and maturity could fall in love so fast with such a young woman. At 60, he still would not know the difference in the nuances and qualities of what love is? he would not know about selfless love and self serving love or infatuation? he would throw away a lifetime relation with another woman? in addition testerones production is usually diminushing at that age and men start calming down a bit. lol
I saw the film last night. I am almost 58 and one of my daugther is almost 18, so I can relate to this concept.
I was disturbed by it, not from a moral standpoint, but found it sincerely sad that Vijay would fall for such a young woman, that was portrayed in the movie as quite unstable (from a divorced family, pushing boundaries of good adab as a guest, not really a good friend to the daughter of the family, disrespectful at times). In a way she is portrayed as a self centered 18 years old, while beautiful and sexy, who has psychological wounds and depressive moods.
To make such caracter, as Amitabh Bachchan, play to be that desperate and fall for the sex appeal of that young girl, because of fear of death and aging seems pushing it a bridge too far.
It does no make sense. A man of that maturity would see right through such immature young woman and know that this cannot work and would not have encourage her. In that movie, he starts flattering her ego and seduces her by his attention.
I love my daugher but I also know how self-centered she can be. What mature old man would want in his right mind marry an 18 years old today? or any of her girlfriends from her high school. lol, what a headache that would be. You need to have all your wheeties to handle such energy.
Jpd-We are not trying to disrespect any couples who have age differences nor trying to judge people. But in this film, this 60 year old man is married, has a grown daughter, and then falls for an 18 year old girl (who is in fact his daughter's friend!)That was the part that disturbs us. The infidelity and encouraging such behavior is what was bugging us. But I guess, we'll have to see the film and find out!
I have a dear friend and sister who is now in her fifties, she married a man (now deceased) who was 35 years her senior. They lived together for thirty years before his passing. She now lives with the memory of that intense love.
As we drove for five hours from a spiritual retreat, she opened her heart and her lovely story poured out of her. She had no regret. She had to fight all kind of ostracism, prejudism, rebuttal, rejection, but she was in love and nothing mattered. She still loves him.
She is proud of her love, her decision and her life with that man. Her eyes were full of tears recounting the beautiful moments they lived with each other.
Who are we to judge someone else love? to see through the eyes of the lover, to apprehend the beauty of heart of the beloved. Why does it have to fit into any particular model? What is beauty and harmony? Who defines what is beautiful?
Definitely a gross concept. I can't watch the previews! Besides he's definitely older than 60! There was an american tv movie about a woman who was in her 20s who fell for a married older man. This might be along those lines but not something I'd want to see from Bollywood.
nishabd is a little-less risque version of lolita...but yeah def strange but i'll prob check it out---ram gopal verma movies are usually weird but good...
