Sell no. Pay to take off your hands? Maybe. Personally, I think he has HUGE upside. Imagine if he cuts 1/2 the mistakes and plays efficiently with that defense AND they eventually get him a legit #1 WR. He'll be OK as long as he continues to develop in a postive trend.

He wrote that recently? Why would he be analyzing Huff like that at this point??? You sure you didn't pull this the day after the draft? BTW. No way Walter will be on their roster by the time camp starts. Take that to the bank and cash it in. Brooks will be the veteran playing with Russell.

Ya'all, I agree with you 100%. This morning as I read this analysis from a national editor (Vic Carucci) of NFL.com, I was scratching my head as well in denial and thinking what the hell is this dude (editor) smoking!!!.....did I missed anything or is he making an incorrect analysis.

That's why I thought of posting ya'all to seek fantasy footballers intake. Thank you TOK & INSP.

Eyesheikah: I don't get what your trying to say. Personally, I think they made the right choice by not drafting Cutler or Leinart. They better not pass on Russle this year though! Man, if they ever fix that o-line, forget about it! That team will be a force with the right coaching staff. Everyone here already knows how much I love their defense and Rob Ryan. I will defintiely draft their defense as my starter this season.

Hey guys, any comments on Vic Carucci's Analysis about Michael Huff:

"This is a big of a surprise, but you always have to expect the unexpected with the Raiders. Matt Leinart seemed like the right pick (Hoff) here, but the Raiders apparently feel comfortable with Aaron Books and their other quarterbacks. Instead, they have gone with one of the better and more versatile defensive players in the draft. Huff can play cornerback, as well as safety. He is excellent in coverage and he is an extremely tough, hard-hitting player who could greatly help in run support."

I have no clue man. Petigout going down was the #1 reason our season tanked. It went down hill immediately on the next play! All I can think is either they have a trade in mind, his injury is a lot worse than we know, or they just don't think he's worth $5 million a year. Doesn't make sense to anyone.

Dude TOK, what are your boys thinking? letting go Petitgout. That's good news for Kearse and Darren Howard for '07.

I think the Andrew Walter experiment is over. Eventhough he didn't stand much of a chance. I mean this was the worst offense any of us have ever witnessed!

They need a QB first. Although Walter was ok earlier and then started throwin picks..Jamarcus Russel-like the strong arm

He'll get somewhere in the range of $16 million signing bonus plus a 5 year contract for about $40 million. Something like that. I mean he's gonna be the #1 overall pick as a QB. He deserves that. Thats about standard for a QB selected #1 overall.

Raiders can get a good o-lineman in round 2 as well.

ANyway, salary cap is not the issue for the Raidesr. THey can always get rid of people. The draft does not impact the cap that much, especially when you have no money tied up in any positions besides RB, and even that, Lamont Jordanmakes about $2.3 million a year, which is crapp, considering Edgerrin James gets about 8!

Yeah, Russel should be drafted. Though, thinking in terms of $$, I am not sure how much is he scheduled to count for (??? million) on the 2007 cap. Moreover, how much is his salary going to be?...and if he were to be traded, the Raiders would get back how much (??? million) of space minus any outstanding potential accelerations. At the end of the day, other than trading for more versatility, what would be the salary cap gain for Raiders.

Don't have these numbers...do share if you have.

I think the G-Men are gonna resign Petigout UNLESS they found something extremely wrong with the guy. He was having a damn Pro bowl year before breaking his fibula! Doesn't make sense to cut him unless they are gonna resign him cheaper.

Raiders should DEFINITELY draft Russel! His versatility should open up more room Jordan as well as force the secondary to be one step slower due to this running threats.

IR85: I agree, Giants are restructuring their roster at this time with the release of their 3 players. Although to early to say anything, my view on this is that Giants head coach Tom Coughlin will be closely monitoring the 2007 NFL draft and would have to make some tough decisions.
