ft, i think discussing things can help you get over them to an extent - (and for some people) discussing them for a whole year or two.. or beyond that may be unnecessary though

I think discussing unpleasant things does not let you get over them. However, the village can be used to support those going through the process with practical tips on how to go about the divorce process etc., complications involved and emotional support.
