My favorite Ghazal

Sunaa tha keh woh aayengay anjuman main
Sunaa tha ke un se mulaaqaat ho gi

Humain kiya pata tha, humain kiya khabar thee
Na yeh baat ho gee, no woh baat ho gee

Mein kehta hoon is dil ko dil main basaa lo
Woh kehtay hain hum se nigaahen milaa lo

Nigaahon ko maaloom kiya dil ki haalat
Nigaahon nigaahon main kiya baat ho gi

Humain kheench kar ishq laaya hai tera,
Teray dar pe hum nay lagaaya hai dera

Humain ho ga jab tak na deedaar tera
Yehin subh ho gee, yehin raat ho gee

Mohabbat ka jab hum ne chaira fasaana,
To goray se mukhray pay aaya paseena

Jo niklay the ghar se to kiya jaante thay,
Ke yoon dhoop main aaj barsaat ho gee

Khafaa hum se ho ke wo bethay huay hain
Raqeebon main ghir ke woh bethay huay hain

Na woh dekhtay hain, na hum dekhtay hain
Yahaan baat ho gee to kia baat ho gee

Kisi ke waastay raahain kahaan badalti hain
Tum apnay aap ko khud hi badal sako to chalo

Yahaan kisi ko koi raasta nahin deta
Mujhay gira ke agar tum sunbhal sako to chalo

Yehi hai zindagi, kuch khawaab, chand ummedain
Inhin khilonon se tum bhi behl sako to chalo

Safar main dhoop to ho gee, jo jal sako to chalo.
Sabhi hain bheer main, tum bhi nikal sako to chalo

Wah!

Thanks TG. Awesome choice!

It's not too late to plant the seed in a friend's mind....for a Quaid-e-Azam's birthday anniversary gift...of course.

For i-tunes, go to apple.com and download the iTunes software, appropriate for your computer operating system.

In iTunes, you can then click on the iTunes store and search for the songs you want. To purchase them, you will have to make an apple store account-usually your e-mail address and provide your credit card number.

Once you buy the songs, you can burn them to CD.

The songs you buy are in apple's AAC format and cannot be played on any other portable music player, but you can burn them to CD I beleive 7 times, and the CD can be played in any CD player.

TG: I just did some quick searches and all of them are available on iTunes!!! I havent heard any of the ones you mentioned, but they must be good.
I'm not being cheap or anything, I can certainly send you my faves on CD-but in this era of instant gratification, you could download them today. I am!!

*buys raat bhi, shaayad and Safar main*

Haunting...hmm, Woh kaagaz ki kashti woh baarish ka paani...always makes me want to cry and be a little kid again. The saddest part is, I have forgotten how to make a kaaghaz ki kashti...

Thank god somebody else likes this one. In my entire life I have met only two other people who can understand it's beauty, you are the third. We are a dying breed.

I have bought this casette and CD god knows how many times, and now finally, it is permanently entrenched in my iPod, my iPhone and in my car. hehehhehe
