MPG for 2008 Honda Accord

what the hell happened to Honda accord ? the 2007 According gives 26 MPG in City and 34 MPG on highway... the 2008 model gives only 22 MPG in the city and 31 on the highway. The horsepower went up from 166 to 177.. what the heck.. for 11 horses more I loose so many miles per gallon.. what is Honda doing ? With this kind of mileage, I might as well save me some money and buy a Ford.

lol @ Mehjubeen... I am sure they would like people to buy the hybrid version.. but I don't think they make as much money on those models as they do on regular ones.
I read the EPA guidlines article and they are getting strict with driving conditions... and require companies to use more of the real life conditions, like speed changes, stop and go etc.

A friend point to new EPA guidelines and how it would effect all the cars. You can read about it here.
