Hi everyone, I am potentially moving to Seattle early next year to be closer to my family in Vancouver, Canada. After living in NYC for 12 years, I am a little aprehensive about moving to other coast and all strange life style changes that I will have to adapt to, like owning and driving a car for example.

Anyway, would like to connect with folks in Seattle to meet meet up with and potentially ask for advice on things like: where to stay, where the best thai restuarents are, where the 24hr hot spots are, etc.

Seattle is definitely not California, but it is nice!

I am pretty resigned to owning a car. Can't see myself commuting by bus in the endless rain. I'm looking for a neighborhood where I can walk around to restuarents, coffee shops, entertainment etc and where there is some population density and a street culture (people walk around because they want to, not because they have to).
