More Details Disclosed about Siniora?s Letter
Al-Addiyar newspaper discloses more information about the famous letter of betrayal.
Al-Addiyar newspaper said today that Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, confirmed the receipt of a letter from Fuad Siniora signed by a number of Lebanese officials regarding the international tribunal, but Ki-moon refused to reveal the contents of that letter, and if it included a request from the unconstitutional government to establish of the international tribunal under Chapter VII.
The newspaper added ?it was interesting that the new Secretary-General said the Lebanese government has to take the necessary steps for the ratification of the draft of the tribunal according to the constitutional procedures and rules adopted in Lebanon.?
The newspaper said it tried to get access to the letter in Beirut, but it did not succeed because the letter does not exist in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The newspaper reported that it could not obtain the letter from the decision making circles in the Presidency of the Republic nor the Parliament.

The newspaper added that Security Council has requested from United Nations for the letter to be approved according to the constitutional frameworks in Lebanon before it could be sent to Security Council to be discussed.

4- Why was the letter sent without the knowledge of the Presidency and the Cabinet, which had not been informed about the letter to discuss it while the letter was sent on behalf of Lebanon to the United Nations?
5- Why did the UN Secretary-General refuse to disclose the contents of this letter in the press conference he held in New York?
6- Why did the UN Secretary-General request from the Lebanese government to take the needed measures for the letter?s ratification according to the constitutional procedures in Lebanon?
