Michael Vick Indicted on Dog Fighting


A federal grand jury has indicted Michael Vick in an investigation into illegal dog fighting.

Vick and three others are charged with violating federal lawsagainst competitive dog fighting, procuring and training pit bulls for it and conducting the enterprise across state lines.

We'll see how long of a sentence he gets. I presume 18 months not to mention the NFL-suspension he will receive. I am glad to see that he pleaded guilty rather than having his name further discredited by revealing testimony.

I think the feds can be beat in this case though. I'm no lawyer or even know enough to make that judgement but I feel in my heart of hearts, he's gonna beat it.

He's definitely guilty of the house thing. We all know he knew it was happening. That can not be denied. But how are they gonna prove he paid for it off one guy's testimony? A guy Vick had thrown off his property years ago? A guy who hates Vick and Vick hates him? All they need to do is kill his credibility. The Feds lost the OJ case. Remember that! ;)

He's an NFL QB. You know how demanding that is. You think he has the time to oversee a dog fight operation???

Vick's defense will KILL this guy's credibility. And don't read too much intot he 95% conviction rate. A lot of those cases never go to trial cuz of plea bargains. Vick has a CLEAN criminal record and the best defense money can buy. He will NOT go to jail and he will play football in '08. Maybe not as a Falcon, but he will play. Believe me, I'm a pit bull owner and a dog lover and would love to see him pay but I don't think it will happen. I just don't see how Vick, a guy makes over $30 million a year, could have that much invested in dog fighting. Not saying he had no idea or didn't get a cut, but no way was he the mastermind behind this.

Well Nike already says they still plann on releasing his V shoe as scheduled on August 23rd and thats the biggest one he has.

never knew dog fights are illegal here .. I have seen few back in Pakistan while growing up .. got to admit its a darn good entertainment .. Doberman and one more commong fight back there is Doberman Vs bear..
thats again a darn good entertainment but very cruel.. they tie up the eyes of bear and leave two bobermans on it .. in the end for most past bear tears apart one dog..

He should get the maximum punishment allowable by law that basturd if he's convicted! electricuting them to death, smashing them into the ground till death, drowning them to death??? This is behavior carried out by a sane human being???

Jasmine: i have a pitbull and she's the nicest thing in the world. Pit bulls get messed up in the head when they are not pure bread and have been trained to fight. If they are raised with love like any other dog, they are harmless. You shouldn't just assume stuff cuz you see it all over the place.

As for Mr. Vick, he is indicted for conspiracy. Personally, I think he'll beat it.
